Microbiology Scientist

We are looking for a PhD level microbiologist for a Texas-based pharmaceutical company. We have been exclusively retained by this client who is dedicated to meeting the challenge of infectious disease in the new millennium. Our client plans to discover, develop and commercialize novel classes of anti-microbial drugs for the treatment of bacterial and fungal infections. Such infections represent a serious and growing medical problem in both hospital and community settings. Our client combines a proprietary proteomics based drug discovery technology with target-directed screens and a lead compound series.

Qualifications:
-Candidates must have a PhD with experience in Microbial Genetics, Microbiology and Microbial Physiology, and Molecular Biology
-Must have 4+ years of industry experience
-Significant experience in the genetic manipulation of bacteria through classical and modern molecular methodologies
-Familiarity with techniques used to characterize anti-microbial agents
-Broad experience in the design and implementation of recombinant DNA strategies to facilitate the genetic manipulation of bacteria
-Experience in modern methods of transcriptional profiling in bacterial systems
